In Brighter Shores Spider Nest quest is a side quest in cliffside path where you need to save an NPC from a titan spider. During this quest you will obtain a spell called “Storage Rift Spell” that can be used to transport resources across different areas of the map. The requirement for this quest is level 32 carpentry.
There are two parts to the quest, where you’ll need to trap the Titan Spider and defeat the level 35 baby spiders to rescue Toblaine. The spell can be unlocked while completing the first part of the quest when you meet Marcus Mint. Below is a brief guide on how to reach level 32 carpentry quickly and obtain the Storage Rift Spell.
Brighter Shores How To Get Storage Rift Spell Location
To start the Spider Nest quest, head towards the cliffside path. There, you will find Toblaine, who is wrapped in spider webs and needs your help. However, you won’t be able to save him due to the Titan Spider, no matter what you try. While failing to help Toblaine and falling down the cliff, you’ll meet Alannor, who will tell you to collect Tar Rats.
To obtain Tar Rats, visit the area called Small Clearing in the southeast part of the map. There, you’ll find Hamish Truefire, who has what you need but requires something in return: two anti-acid shields. To craft the anti-acid shields, you’ll need the following resources:
- 1 Golden Marrow
- 1 Snake Eyeball
- 2 Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields

To obtain a Snake Eyeball, head to Snakes Clearing and defeat a Horned Viper.
Golden Marrow
To obtain Golden Marrow, visit Mr. McGrish’s Garden, located in the southwest part of the map. You’ll be turned away unless you have the judge’s badge. To get the badge, visit Huntsman’s Clearing and interact with Kedwick, who will ask you to slay a Spriggan found at Treeway Junction.
After killing the Spriggan, you’ll receive a claw, which you should bring back to Kedwick to obtain the badge. With the badge in hand, head to Timberwell Green and pick a Green Marrow from the garden near the road.
While on your way to Mr. McGrish’s Garden, pick up some gold paint near a tree. Use it to paint your Green Marrow gold. Show the badge to Mr. McGrish to enter his garden. Inside, swap the real Golden Marrow with the fake, painted one.
Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields
To craft two uncoated anti-acid shields, visit Timberwell Garden to get Ash Logs. Use the circular saw to turn the logs into Ash planks, then use the workbench to craft the shields.
Once you’ve collected all the items, head to Small Clearing and place all the resources in the cauldron in front of Hamish. Now you can coat the uncoated shields with the mixture from the cauldron. Follow Hamish through Acidic Avenue, and after crossing, you’ll reach the Pool of Rainbow, where you’ll find Marcus Mint, who will teach you the Storage Rift Spell.
After obtaining the Tar Rat from Hamish, head over to the cliffside path and place the Tar Rat on the big flat boulder to lure the Titan Spider. While the spider is distracted, munching on the Tar Rat, cut the vines to trap the spider and reach Toblaine. Before reaching Toblaine, you will encounter two small spiders of a slightly higher level. Once these small spiders are defeated, you can save Toblaine and complete the Spider Nest quest in Brighter Shores.
